Remote rehabilitation is easy: children younger than school age are able to participate actively on the other side of the screen, and quickly learn how to use the computer and mouse, which increases their motivation to participate in remote therapy. Through the interactive program, people on both sides can actively participate and manipulate materials with the computer. Almost all material, from the pen tasks to the computer games, can be shared between the client and therapist. Home exercises, and the sharing of information, become more versatile through the recording, modification and storage of therapies, because the previously-mentioned material can be sent to the client, including individually-made entries. The remote rehabilitation program used by Tutoris is available on all computers that have a camera, microphone and loudspeaker — only an e-mail address is needed.

  • The exercises are carried out in the client’s own environment
  • The client is in video contact with the therapist via computer
  • The rehabilitation can be handled by a therapist with the best possible background for the needs of the client in question

“The remote therapy worked very well. Yesterday, I was talking to the client’s mother, and it seems that the family has been very satisfied. Distances can be a major barrier, when a child has to take a taxi all the way to Mikkeli after school. With this option, small communities are able to access the services. The child was tired at the beginning, but after the therapy, the child has been more energetic and active. It’s been great.”
